Let’s Work Together

You know your body best. You just know when things “don’t feel right”.

Are you experiencing stress, a health condition or an issue you just can’t resolve? Would you do anything for a good night’s sleep? Would you like to get through your day with more spring in your step?

Are you transitioning through a new phase of life, and feel like you need some support? Do you need help to get back on track?

It’s ok to ask for help, and I’d like to show you what’s possible.

Are you ready to take the next step?

Initial Naturopathic Assessment

Let’s play detective and find the root cause of your issue.

For complex conditions, this may not be teased out in the first appointment, but it’s where we start. I’ll ask you questions about your general health, your past medical history, your family medical history, your immediate issue, and what your short and long term goals are. I may take your vital statistics (eg blood pressure, pulse, weight, height etc) and/or look at your nails and tongue.

I may prescribe a herbal blend, a tea, a flower essence or a simple nutritional or herbal supplement, and I almost always send you away with some achievable nutritional and/or lifestyle modifications. You might leave with a diary or questionnaire to complete.

I determine a plan of action - an early stage treatment plan - taking into account your long term goals.

Follow Up Naturopathic Consultation

This appointment is for existing clients. This is where I present your treatment plan, or we review your progress.

We discuss the plan, and start to implement treatment strategies to help you get back on track. I may refer you for testing, and/or review previous lab tests.

We might review any questionnaires or diaries you have been asked to complete.

The first Follow Up appointment is usually 60 mins.

Subsequent Follow Ups may be 30 mins, and I will advise when this is realistic. Sometimes there’s a lot to chat about, especially if the issue is more complex, and I don’t want you to feel rushed.

Straight-forward issues may resolve quickly, in which case Follow Ups can be scheduled as you feel you need them.

Australian Bush Flower Essence Consultations

Let’s talk. I blend a bespoke essence especially for your needs, after a chat about your presenting issue.

Australian Bush Flower Essences can assist in supporting you through a physical issue, or help shift any mental or emotional roadblocks.

Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology (CHEK)

Personal Training

A CHEK assessment is a comprehensive analysis of your posture and the way in which your body moves and functions.

We talk about injuries past and present, and I assess the range of motion of your muscles and joints. I assess the strength and function of your “inner unit” (ie your “core”) and how well you are stabilising your body when you move and exercise, as well as your breathing patterns.

I work on a plan to correct any issues, which involves corrective exercises and stretches, and usually some breathing exercises.

I take into consideration your current physiological load (how much stress your body and mind are under), your current abilities, and your functional needs in regards to your work, sport, or day-to-day activites. I apply scientific principles to my exercise prescription, to train the correct reflexes and movement patterns that are specific to YOUR NEEDS, using body weight exercises, free weights, stability balls and cables if available. (Most exercises can be adapted to be performed at home if needed.)

Yes, you read that correctly: “your needs”. That is the true meaning of “Functional Exercise”. Flipping truck tyres and smashing out chin ups aren’t functional exercises for everyone. For some people, sessions are more like a “work in” than a “workout”, by prioritising the building of vitality, rather than depleting it.

Testimonial

“Raelene has been great in helping me change my lifestyle in a number of ways and has been particularly helpful with nutritional guidance.  These changes, coupled with my exercise programmes have me feeling the best I have for many years.  Some of the benefits, mainly increased physical strength and improved posture, have carried through to my work and have made aspects of my job as a butcher not only easier, but more enjoyable.  I was told I would never run again because of a calf injury,  but I am now in training for my first marathon, and expect to complete it in a very competitive time.   My times are repeatedly personal bests, with no sign of any recurrence of the calf injury.  I’d like to thank Raelene for her professionalism and patience in helping me turn my life around.”
